Eight Advisory:

Eight Advisory was founded in Paris 13 years ago, now being one of the market leaders in the Transaction service business. Eight Advisory Germany was established in Frankfurt in 2018. Together with our other German offices in Munich, Hamburg and Cologne we are offering customized financial, tax and transformation services for various projects e.g. M&A transaction, reorganization, carve out, refinancing, tax structuring and transformation.

The Case Topic:

While renewable energies have been around for quite some time, there is one source of energy which has been a particular prevalent one in recent years: solar energy gathered through photovoltaic (PV) panels. PV technology is being deployed in various settings, personal power needs or for commercial solar parks, and has been a quite reliable and efficient source of sustainable energy, making it one of the most attractive opportunities for many equity investors in the infrastructure sector. We at Eight Advisory are closely following this market trend, recognizing its potential, and have been engaged in various PV projects.

The Workshop:

Together with the Eight Advisory team you will work on the analysis of a photovoltaic business case and the structuring of an investment case. In a first step, you will be presented with a simplified financial model, which we like you to adjust and enhance in accordance with project specific data and structures. This involves understanding of the value drivers, implementing the business case into the financial model and evaluating of the investment opportunity. During the last part of the workshop, you will present your analysis and business case to the group as the investment committee.
